What the game is

Penguin Kart Racer is an arcade kart racer in the low-poly, flat-shaded style of the late nineties, released on Steam on October 23, 2026 at $5.00.

The setup is sixteen circuits at the bottom of the world, six penguins and one orca who wants the ice back.

Driving is about holding the drift, banking the boost and cashing it in coming out of the corner.

Adventure Mode runs through four regions, each with its own hub world, its own sky and its own gate to the next.

Modes and structure

Every one of the sixteen tracks is raced three ways: Single Race for first place, Time Trial where you smash crates around the lap to win back seconds, and PKR Challenge where you collect the P, K and R letters and finish first.

That makes 48 awards, and collecting enough of them brings out each region's boss: Skarn the skua, Blubberjaw the elephant seal, Vex the leopard seal and Kaiser Kilo the orca.

Race, Cup and Battle modes round it out, with Cup running four tracks back to back on points and Battle set in five arenas from a shallow bowl to a yard with four ramped towers.

Split-screen supports up to four players on one screen, and cups unlock the battle arenas.

Items and who it is for

Setup options include speed class, field size, lap count, CPU skill, item slots, item chaos, drift assist and a retro filter, with Casual, Standard and Chaos presets for skipping menus.
