FAQ
Fill your 25 hive slots, then raise bond on your best bees - bond levels boost gather, conversion, energy and movespeed.
25 slots by default, expandable to 50 via the Mountain Top Shop, with temporary bees able to push past that.
From collecting pollen in fields they like, defeating mobs, Puppy Love tokens and treats worth 10 to 1000 bond each.
Convert close to your hive, stay on the pad, avoid high jumps during conversion and keep your bees levelled.
46, hatched from eight egg types plus gifted variants.

Written from verified facts; labels mark how strong each statement's evidence is.
Bees follow you around, collect pollen from fields and defend you from mobs and bosses, and they are one of the primary pollen sources because they do it automatically.
On returning to the hive they convert pollen into Honey, which is the main currency used in shops to buy items - so the whole early game is a pollen-to-honey loop.
The hive is also where bees sleep when they run out of energy, and where they rest for about 15 seconds if the beekeeper dies or resets.
Higher-level bees collect and convert more pollen, carry more energy to work longer, and can attack higher-level mobs, so levelling is not cosmetic.
Photon Bee and Exhausted Bee are the two exceptions to the energy rule: both have unlimited energy.
You begin with 25 default hive slots, and once those are filled you can buy extra slots from the Mountain Top Shop.
Extra slots increase in price exponentially, and they take the hive up to a maximum of 50 bees.
It is now possible to exceed 50 using mechanics that grant temporary bees: Onett's Lid Art, Honeyday Candles, Gummy Siege and Spicy Bee's Inferno.
Summoned bees are temporary - they collect pollen, use a random hive slot to convert, have unlimited energy until they despawn, and do not return to the hive if you die.
Gifted summoned bees do not grant a hive bonus and do not count toward average hive level, though they can still help activate passives.
Bond is the levelling system: each level above 1 adds +5% gather amount, +10% conversion amount, +5% energy and +3% movespeed.
Bees gain bond automatically when collecting pollen in a field, and each bee type likes, dislikes or is neutral toward each field.
A happy emoticon means the bee likes that field and gains extra bond; a sad one means minimal bond; no emoticon means the usual amount.
Bond also comes from defeating mobs, from a Puppy Love token from Puppy Bee, and from treats - which add 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 or 1000 depending on the treat.
Feeding a bee its favourite treat gives double bond and a very low chance of becoming gifted or mutated.
Bees are hatched from eggs, and the odds of a particular rarity or type depend on the egg: a Gold Egg can hatch an Epic, Legendary or Mythic bee.
The eight egg types are Basic, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Star, Mythic, specific bee eggs and event bee eggs, plus gifted variants and the Choose-A-Mythic Egg.
You can change the type of an already-hatched bee by applying a Royal Jelly or another egg, which is how you repair a hive that rolled badly.
There are 46 bee types to discover, and Bear Bee - once Robux-only - can now be obtained via a voucher from the retro challenge, by killing the Tunnel Bear, or by trading.
Move closer to your hive while converting: bees convert honey faster when they do not have to fly as far.
Stay on the pad in front of your hive while converting - moving off it stops conversion entirely, though barely stepping off does not.
Avoid jumping with over 20 jump power while your bees are making honey, because it halts conversion.
Bees fly to you and ignore flowers and mobs when you get too far away, so drifting off mid-conversion wastes collection time.
Slow internet has a measurable cost: lagging connections give bees a high chance of being slower at fighting mobs, making honey and collecting pollen.
Fill your 25 starting slots before buying more - a full hive out-earns a partially expanded one.
Feed your best bees treats regularly rather than spreading treats evenly, since conversion and gather bonuses compound on the bees you run most.
Watch the emoticons: parking a bee on a field it likes is free bond that costs nothing but positioning.
Once bond gains slow, buy hive slots from the Mountain Top Shop - the exponential price means early slots are by far the cheapest progress.
Track a gifted target deliberately: Star Jelly, a Star Treat or a star egg are the only guaranteed routes to a gifted bee.
The eight egg types are Basic, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Star, Mythic, specific bee eggs and event bee eggs, along with gifted variants and the Choose-A-Mythic Egg.
The rarity of the egg sets what it can produce: a Gold Egg can hatch an Epic, Legendary or Mythic bee.
Feeding a bee its favourite treat has a 1/8000 gifted chance for Rare, 1/10000 for Epic, 1/12000 for Legendary and Common, and 1/24000 for Mythic.
Royal jelly and Basic Eggs carry a 1/287 gifted chance, which is the best of the random routes.
Only Star Jelly, a Star Treat or a star egg guarantee a gifted bee, so save treats for bees you will keep long-term.
Spend your first big purchase on hive slots rather than cosmetics - more slots means more passive pollen while you do anything else.
